I took a bus from Delhi in the morning and started my journey to the town of Mcleodganj. Although the journey was a bit hectic, yet when I came across the Dhauladar Range, the view of the snow capped peaks was so stunning that it took my breath away. All the tiredness was gone and I was becoming impatient to reach Dharamshala as soon as possible. After a fourteen hours journey, the bus dropped me at the Dharamshala bus stand where I had to take another bus to reach Mcleodganj.
When I reached the town, it was already dusk and people started turning the lights on. The hotel was not far from where the bus dropped me. The hotel room was very nice and the view of Main Square was astonishing from the balcony of my room. I hit the bed early after having dinner as I had to get up early to start my exploration. Next day, I asked hotel staff about the places in Mcleodganj to visit and they gave me some good ideas. I must say that the hotel staff was very cooperative and gave me a quite warm treatment.
The first thing was to visit the Tsunglakhang temple complex, which was the home and office of Dalai Lama. It was really a great spiritual experience for me. The Tibetan museum is a great source of knowledge about Tibetan culture and Buddhism and luckily it was open when I reached there. After visiting the temple, I headed to the streets of Mcleodganj, which were packed with cows, cars and crowd unlike other hill stations. The shops across the streets were full of colourful artefacts, stones, and other articles.
From there, I headed to the Bhagsu Nag temple. After taking blessings from there, I went to the Bhagsu nag water fall. It was a great experience. Being just below the water fall and water falling directly over your head was an out of this world experience. From there, I started my journey to Triund, which is a paradise for mountaineers and hikers. When I reached the place, I was feeling like on the top of this world. The beauty of the place was so astonishing that it appeared like god has gone beyond his imagination to paint this beautiful scenery.
The climate there was so cold that I thanked myself to have bought some winter jackets for women online as without them I might have stayed in the hotel due to this bone chilling climate. After two days of exploration of the place, I returned with new energy and a whole new perspective towards life.
